I have a Lenovo W700, which has two HDD bays respectively.
My problem is this really isn't enough storage for me.

Are there any recommended cheap solutions to attaching large volumes of storage to a laptop?

I have expresscard slots, firewire, and a small hoard of 3.5" 500gB drives.

Clone your existing hard drive onto one of the 500GB and use another one in the other slot. You'll then have at least 600-700GB of room, if not more. But you have to make the 500GB internal if they are in cases (obviously)

Sorry for not being clearer, I could try just putting in 2x 500gB 2.5" drives, but even filling up both HDD slots with 500gB 2.5" drives is not enough.

External / networked / peripheral bank of HDDs is more what I was looking for.

So when I bring my laptop home, I can hook up a nice 4TB of storage space / something equality ridiculus.
