I got a dell Inspiron 8200 with windows XP.

When I boot up windows a blue screen flashes for about 2 seconds and then restarts, is there a way to stop it from restarting so I can read what the blue screen says? And some times when I turn on the laptop before windows boots up I get this error.

Memory write/read Failure at 27FF5028, read 0000FF10 expecting FF10FF10
Memory address line Failure at 27FF0000 read FF10FF10 expecting 00000000

Then it asks me if I want to go to my bios.

I don't have a boot disc for it so if anyone could shine some light on this problem would be a great help.

Yes i can get into safe mode.

Ok i ran memtest for 2 seconds and this is what i got.

Test 1 Errors 2

Error Confidence Value:
Lowest Error Address: 00020835748 - 520.3MB
Highest Error Address: 00020835748 - 520.3MB
Bits in Error Mask: 20830000
Bits in Error - Total: 4 Min: 4 Max: 4 Avg: 4
Max Contiguous Errors: 1
ECC Correctable Errors:
Errors per Memory Slot: 0: 0
1: 0

After this it stops running memtest.

In Safe Mode right click on My Computer and select Properties. From there click on the Advanced Tab and under the Startup and Recovery click the Settings button. There you will see the option to uncheck the box for auto restart on system failure.

But from the results of MemTest i would say your RAM is going to be the culprit.
