Hey people -

Just opened up a Probook 430 G1 and noticed a magnet embedded in the bezel, when I align all parts up its not inline with anything at all! the closest part to it, is the screen hinges. never noticed a magnet in any laptop before so can someone please explain why its there?

Bet its something simple that im not aware of lol

added pics to see

Maybe it provides just enough grip to be useful, but makes it a bit smoother than on the upper edge (which inevitably you have to pull harder to open, then you feel the resistance suddenly decrease.

Help keep the list closed, or it's used in other versions of the laptop that use a stylus/touch screen and the magnet is there for the stylus to "hook" onto when using it in tablet mode.

Just gonna throw this out there... Some laptops use magnets in the screen bezel to detect when the lid is closed, usually causes a switch on the other half of the laptop to close shut.
