Hey everyone,
I've had a Lenovo IdeaPad P500 laptop for about 5 years now, and it recently just stopped charging. It won't even turn on or charge when I have it directly plugged in. My question is, do you think I need a new battery for it, a new power jack, or both? It didn't suffer any physical damage, it just simply stopped charging.
Thanks,
Harvey

If you have a digital multimeter, you can check the output voltage of the AC adapter, to make sure it's putting out the correct values according to what's on the label.

Does the AC adapter plug wiggle around / feel loose inside the jack? Or is it a tight/snug fit that doesn't move at all?

I don't have a digital multimeter unfortunately. The AC adapter does fit tightly into the jack without wiggling though.

If you're still having this problem, try removing the battery if possible. If it remains powered on while plugged in, it's likely an issue with the battery.
