So, I have two laptops I'm looking at:

one is a Gateway which can be seen at: Newegg.com - Gateway P-7801u NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo P8400(2.26GHz) 17.0" Wide UXGA 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 320GB HDD 7200rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GTS - Laptops / Notebooks

but is basically a p8400 (2.26ghz, 3mb) 4gb ddr3 1066 ram, 9800m gts $1200

the other one is a sager notebook:

t9300 (2.5ghz, 6mb), 4gb ddr2 667 ram, 9800m gts, $1524

both are 1920x1200, i dont really care about HDD space or bluay drives, any opinions?

At this point it's pretty much up to you. If you feel that you need the better processor, then get the sager ... if not get the Gateway. Personally, I would go for the cheaper option.

It's all up to whether you feel the upgrade is worth an extra $300.

I agree with aaronkupen. The extra $300 or so for the Sager isn't worth it, when they have near identical specs. Plus, the P8400 on the Gateway has a faster FSB. And faster memory.

Personally I'd go with the Gateway, it's cheaper and I've had more experience with the company and their products.
