laptop screen wont come back

Hello My sister has a HP G60 laptop from Walmart... I was using it and an hour or so later she went to use it and the screen was black and it will not come back. I plugged it into a lcd using the vga cable and it seems to be working fine. I can't see and damaged area on the screen its self, any of you know anything about this or ways that It could be covered by either HP or walmart ?

check the display properties. Right click on the desktop and select 'properties' then browse to the 'settings' tab. Make sure the corrent settings are there for your setup.
