Ok, I have been battling this problem for a few months now.

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop. Around Thanksgiving last year, I purchased a new, non-dell laptop battery. For the first month or so, it was working fine, held a 2 1/2 hour charge, and gave me no trouble.

But, for some reason, the battery will randomly say that it is not charged, and will not charge when I have my laptop on (or even off, I've left it off for a full 24 hours, plugged in to let it charge and nothing happened)

However, the reason it wont charge, is because the battery is already at 100%, but my computer reads it as 0%. I ended up finding this out on accident, because for some reason, when I booted up my laptop, and ran Diagnostics, the problem fixed itself, but only for a short while. So every few weeks I have had to do this, just so I can use my laptop not plugged in.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well.... You already answered your question.... You bought a no name battery on ebay... IMO buy a replacement from dell... Or your laptop charging system could have easily been fried if the battery had the wrong voltage.
