I have a Compaq nc6220. The problem I am having is with the power adapter, it stops working after about a month of use. It came with a 65w output charger, so I replace it with the same, but not HP/Compaq brand for I am using too many. I am buying off from eBay.

As soon as a new one arrives and I plug it in, my battery begins charging, but again, the charger will charge for about a month then stops working.

Can anyone help?

I think you have a voltage problem. The battery charges and pushes the charger too hard and breaks it. Did you try taking the battery out, and run on power only? That may be a solution.

No, I haven't. Is there a way to correct the voltage problem?
Thanks for your answer! I will try it now!

I think you have to get a new battery to fix this, I am unsure, though. Either that or the connection to your power supply is bad. Is your laptop still under warranty?

But yes, try it, and from that, we shall know which way to go..

No it is not under warranty. The battery holds a charge for 2 hours. It is working without the battery in it, using the power cord, of course.
