Laptop LCD looks like its burning

The metal frame around the lcd is getting REALLY hot, but just in one place, lower right hand side...like hot enough to burn me if I touch it. The part of the screen around this is also turning black, but if I lick my finger and rub the black spot it goes away for a few minutes and looks fine. The black spot almost looks like the lcd is burning...and it spreads...and gets bigger and bigger.

Any ideas what is wrong with it?

this is very annoying as if the lcd dies I am without a pc for 3 weeks.

Never seen this before. Likely it is a heat issue, possibly a piece of metal casing or something shifted a bit and is now conducting heat. Could also be that the lcd is just on it's last legs and really needs a replacement. What is the manufacturer and the model? Can you provide pics?

I wouldn't have guessed.

What I'd do is open the thing up and find out what components there are at the bottom right, that would cause heating up like that. And then see if I could do anything about it (install a heatsink, or something)
