laptop hdd making noise?

hey all,
my asus g50vt-x1 (about 7 months old) just started making little noises, and im pretty sure from experience that its the headers realigning. i just noticed it now, im pretty sure this is the first time it has happened. before my latop used to be very quiet and i liked it that way. why is the hdd making noise now and is there any way to fix it?

If it is definately the hard drive, and it is a clanking / clicking sound then it sounds like it is the write head on he hard drive. No you can't do anything to resolve this issue aside from replacing the drive. Is it under warranty still? If so send it in for repair. If it isn't I would just back up my data on a regular basis and once the drive crashed to replace it.

hmm
i dont know if its under warranty, but its ok for now. its just really loud on start up then it quiets down. ill definitely back up though. whats the best portable hard drive i can get
