I recently started to get an error on my laptop,

Compaq CQ60-417CA Laptop Notebook PC‏

I boot up my laptop... sometimes it boots up perfect with a single display, the other times it boots up with 2 displays in one screen. First off, what is this called and how can it be fixed. What part is faulty? Would it be the inverter (looked at symptoms... dosent seem to be the case)

Just imagine everything doubled one in the bottom half to the screen, and duplicated on top itself as well. The Screen is split in half.

Thank you for your input,

fair enough, I am very skilled in desktop repair, but to be honest, never really owned a laptop, where would the connection be, in general? Got any tutorials you could link? I will google, but sometimes you guys have these canned somewhere, and tend to be more accurate and easy to follow.

EDIT: I googled, guessing its similar to fixing an inverter, you just check the connections?

Thank you, I have fixed my problem using this tutorial, was just a matter of unplugging and replugging.
