Default Laptop failure, Need Files!!

Today my video card in my LG R500 fried, i can still see whats going on and it does boot but freezes while logging in. I need my files for school that are on it, any way i can get them off before i have to send it away?

**EDIT**

They don't, you'll have to use a conversion cable to connect to the laptop hard drive.

My apologies, you guys are right. Didn't look at the laptop specs, so i didn't realize it uses SATA.

Laptop IDE uses a smaller connector than desktop IDE, but for SATA they're the exact same.

I realize that now calc... I haven't messed with a laptop yet that used SATA so I automatically assumed it was IDE.

I should have double checked the laptop specs... my spoof.
