i just checked again today, now my laptop is down to $1,168!!!
The 2gb is free now. And a 160gb 5.4k rpm is free also, but i still
wanted the 7.2k rpm drive.

yes it is very well a dx10 card. while the 8600gt for notebooks is underclocked compared to the desktop counterpart, yet it is still vert powerful!

GeForce 8600M - Notebook and Laptop
remember memory clock x2 for dx10 card, so its really 1400mhz memory clock.

well i wouldnt expect to run a game like Crysis on that but i hope i could run CS, BF:2142, and WoW perfectly on something like that!

it wil certainly be able to(not crysis quickly tho), if my silly 7600gs on my desktop can run those games(CSS,bf2,etc) on high, then this will surpass pretty well.

I think that card should be able to handle crysis. Probably on low settings, but if he wanted to play it I don't think he'd be having a hard time.
