laptop BSOD HELP! :/

hi guys got a blue screen of death the other day and now my laptop (compaq Pressario V5000)wont load into windows, when i turn it on it beeps 4 times then just sits there with no display on the monitor?

i didnt catch what any of the numbers/codes were on the blue screen.

i have an XP disk to reboot it but in cant without a display? any help guys would be much appreciated

it is currently loaded with xp

Does it give you the blue screen still? Or upon boot it just beeps at you and that is it?

What is the beep code. Most motherboards beep when there is something critical wrong and it cant past POST. 4 beeps = hard drive, 3 beeps = CPU, etc. You need to find out how many beeps then look at compaq's website to see where the failure lies.

no blue screen anymore, just blank, its 4 bleeps, i will try and check tomo what the code is
