Yes that's what I mean. Notebooks newer than 2 years don't continue using a charged battery while plugged in. Once the battery is charged to full capacity it will stop charging it and use the outlet power to run the computer. Only when unplugged will it use the battery again.
 
currently i don't having any laptop. but sooner these tips can be helpful for when i will have my laptop.
 
Also, depending on what type of li-ion laptop battery it is, they may still self-discharge, but at still a less percentage than nickel-based(like 10%l i-ion to 30% nickel). If it's a dumb li-ion then it does not self-discharge, but can have a permanent loss in capacity over time. On the other hand, smart lithium-ion batteries do self-discharge, due to the drain of the built-in voltage monitoring circuit.
