I'm not talking about VRAM. I'm talking about system RAM.
Workstation GPU's (Quadros and Firepros) are exactly just for that: number crunching and data calculation for CAD stuff like that. That's because the calculations are done on those; RAM is just temporary storage for rendering the display and communication between CPU/GPU.
I'm talking about VRAM, not RAM. so back to what I was originally saying getting a workstaion laptop would be better, because the GPU has ECC VRAM ... and its a double whammy because the laptops will most likely have ECC RAM also..
the ECC RAM is extra, like a bonus in my eyes since as its not as nice as having ECC VRAM in cad.
