Default Laptop for $1,200

Hi guys, My friend wants to buy a laptop for no more than $1,200

He wants a 17" screen and maybe a built in web-cam.

He says he doesn't want to play games, But it would be cool if it could play BF2

What is the best bang for the buck Laptop in his price rang?

Anyone see any good Christmas sales?

The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

try that one out.. i think u can configure it to have a Webcam.. plus with ur big budget... you can get some heavy performance out of it..

The vostro series is great... And if he still presists to not buy the dell... well then kick him in the nuts once and ask him again.

Get something from the Hp DV6500 range ...

I just got an Hp DV6525em last week, and couldnt be happier.. runs all my games on medium-high settings (Warcraft, battlefield 2142, Need for speed carbon and call of duty 4 CS:Source) and ive never had a problem. Of course higher end games like BF2142 and CoD4 have to be run at about medium settings. But i would recommend it as they start at 600 (1200$) and have a fairly good spec ...

AMD athlon 64 x2 level 2 cache (512+512 Mb)
nVidia 7150m w/ 556mb graphics memory
2Gb RAM
120Gb HDD
Vista home premium .

see what you think ...
