Ok, I just bought a Sony AR690U a couple weeks ago.. and let me tell you, I love it. It is so fast and the screen is amazing. But anyway, to the point of this post.
The laptop has an optical port on the side that doesn't look like any other optical port that I have seen. It is not a TOSlink and it doesn't look like a S/PDIF either. This has got me stumped. I attached a picture of it to show what I am talking about.

it says it is a S/PDIF port, but on a S/PDIF port, there is usually more of a lip, this port has no lip at all, it is like a regular stereo jack.
