Internet Help Please!

Hi everyone, I just bought a laptop. It had windows 7 I upgraded to windows 8, and now I have no internet. I went into device manager and network controller has that yellow explanation point meaning it is not installed. Please, can anyone help me? It really sucks having a laptop with no internet. thanks.

Do you have the driver installed?

I don't think so, I connected my laptop to the internet from my desktop cable, and scanned for updates to it. I just checked my drivers disc that came with the computer, but the only option it has for installing drivers is for windows 7

Go into device manager, and look in Network Adaptors (I'm on Win 7 so I can't tell you if it's different) and see if everything is installed.

Thanks a lot, I feel soooooo dumb. I have a dell, went to their site to get the driver, and the whole time I was under windows 7 instead of windows 8. all in all, I got internet now. Thanks for your help and replying soo fast.
