Default Improve my Laptop

People I severely need help this computer is awful but I know its not at its full potential. I am very familiar with hacking such things as android devices and was wondering how to do the same as overclocking and possibly adding more goodies to the poor machine. I also need help with what to do on it in general. Suppose it is brand new out of the box, what should I do?

First off, welcome to Tech-Forums.

Second, never overclock a laptop. Ever. They are not designed to handle the additional heat even if it let's you overclock it.

Third, you can't root a laptop... unless it is running Android.

Fourth, straight out of the box I would at least uninstall all the crapware that will come stuffed on it, or flat out format and reinstall the OS fresh without any of that stuff.

The best upgrade you can do is to max out (or at least upgrade) your RAM. After that you could look at switching over to a solid state drive (SSD) as they are way faster than platter hard drives... but they are not cheap.
