If you are thinking case mod then that's more trouble than its worth. Especially on a p3.

i have put windows on the back of the lcd panel before. it was fun.. and i have a mod here on my desk on how to add a cell phone screen to laptop hand rest.

AS i have already said a low grade laptop is not going to be the best Media Center to use. It will be slow to load and slow to transfer. You might want to consider something better than a old laptop to use as a MCE.

yeah well what about an Eee pc? would it be a decent Linuxmce?

It might be. But those dont have much room for storage. A Media Center is the place where all teh media is stored and then distrubited. So you wouldnt be able to store much on a EEEPC.

there is a 160gb version of the Eee pc. but idk. maybe ill just save up and get my gaming desktop. and buy a cheap little laptop for internet and word processing on the road. is there MS office for linux yet?

No. Only Open Office. You might get lucky and be able to use it thru Wine.

meh ima use my parents old laptop for travel i have decided. and i will just put all my money towards my new gaming rig. thanks for all the info you guys and sorry for wasting time. (helped me make my decision though)
