HP pavillion no caps lock LED

I just noticed today that when i push caps lock on my laptop, the function works but the light does not illuminate.
Not sure if this is an error or something pooped inside.


This is an HP Pavillion DV6000

Could just be the LED is died.

Is this something that can happen and is not too out of the ordinary?

a reinstall wouldn't do me any good would it?

If it is a dead LED a reinstall wont fix it. Test it with a LiveCD distro of Linux. If the caps lock light comes on there then you know it is something with Windows.

Get Ubuntu - Download, request a CD, or buy on CD/DVD | Ubuntu

Ubuntu has a LiveCD version that you can use.
