Default HP Pavilion 6704nr

Interesting one. Was given this by a friend to fix. It just doesnt power on. Remove the battery and i see that there is power via the adapter, but once you press the button the fans cycle and it does nothing.

The only thing i can think of is a bad power switch. As it does feel strange when pressing it. But the power adapter is also crap as well. The end going into the laptop is held on by electrical tape. So i already told them to order a replacement.

Any thoughts? I checked the RAM and HDD. The HDD can be read by another machine. Cant really test the RAM since it wont go on at all. Cant even test a Linux LiveCD.

Think the board is just shot. Could be a bad PSU as well.
