Default how do i use my built in webcam on a windows 7 laptop?

programs will not access my webcam. they say something like please connect a webcam or turn it on. i looked for the webcam in manage devices but i do not have an imaging devices. how do i turn my webcam on?

What laptop do you have?
Try typing 'webcam' into the Start menu searchbar and see what it gives you. That's how I found mine :P

Your built-in web cam should show up in Device Manager as an imaging device. If it doesn't show up it means it isn't working at all. It's possible it may be turned off in your BIOS. If the web cam shows in Device Manager with a yellow icon it most likely means you need to find the driver for it.

BIOS doesn't control your WebCam. There would be a FN key combination to turn it on. Some have an actual on and off switch.

Look in all programs. there should be a program that controls it.
