Hooking acer aspire 3000 laptop up to 32lg30 lcd tv through vga

Hi guys,
im trying to hook my Acer Aspire 3000 laptop up to my 32lg30 lcd tv through vga....unfortunately i cant get a signal i switched the input on the tv to rgb pc in but it still says no signal...am i doing something wrong? maybe i missed a step on the pc end i know that you have to use the function key to swtich over the screens but that does nothing either....any ways any help is greatly appreciated..

Try other sources on the TV.

the laptop only has vga out.....no s video no hdmi

Have you check your graphics properties/settings to see if the secondary display is detected or enabled?
