Default Help! Parts of screen inaccessible

Yeah, so basically, parts of my actual screen aren't filled in by whats on display.

Don't know how to explain it in words properly so here's a photo -

It doesn't happen every time I switch on the Laptop, but when it does, it starts from the moment the laptop is turned on (boot up I believe it was called). It may sometimes fix itself when starting up windows, and the display on my second monitor is fine as normal.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I would blame the LCD. There's probably a loose connection. Or the connector could be bad, similar to a video cable.

Is this still under warranty?

No it isn't unfortunately.

But are there alternatives other than sticking my laptop on hibernate after I'm done?

Shut it down?

You could put it to sleep, too.

Yeah, but if I shut down, there's a chance that the screen will become like that again.

Hibernation for a laptop isn't really meant for long time use. Hibernation saves the memory to hard disk, and shuts off the system. So it is really like shutting down, just in a different way.

Shutting down will not hurt your LCD. This is a connection problem, not a system problem.
