Default hard disk space?

I got a problem on my laptop as my computer is showing that the hard disk partition is full when in reality it isn't. Any ideas what might be?

What does Disk Management say about the disk - is it showing as the correct size there, or extended beyond it's "max space"?

Try running DIsk Cleanup and when it's finished it's first scan, click the "Scan system files" option as well, and re-scan.

I'd also try dropping down your System Restore allocation percentage (System -> Advanced System Settings -> System Protection tab)

Also under Advanced System Settings, under the advanced Tab->Performance Settings, check what your Page FIle / Virtual Memory is set to.

ran disk clean up and managed to get an extra 1.5gb free space, could not find scan system files but cleaned up system restore and shadow copies and how have 53gb free.

reduced the system restore space.

thanks.

Ah, Shadow Copies, forgot about that one - good thing you checked there as well.

So all is well now I assume?
