Default Friend looking to buy new laptop

Very maximum budget: $1,200, although wanting to spend around $1,000

Here's what he wants: Decent gaming laptop (enough to make him happy... games like Crysis (on lowest), AoE3, Command & Conquer 3 medium, as well as others)

he wants Photoshp CS3/4 to run smoothly

He also wants to know if anyone has a nice, decent, in shape laptop at a decent spec, he'll be willing to buy it off of ya.

Any laptops for recommendation? Thanks!

I'd say this is a great deal for $1000:
Asus - Laptop with Intelฎ Core™2 Duo Processor - Black - G72GX-RBBX05

C2D 2.53GHz
6GB RAM
GTX 260M
17.3" LED
500GB
W7 Home Premium 64-bit

Should be able to play Crysis at medium to high settings.

Thanks for the recommendation. He's wanting to know the difference between the Core 2 Duo's, the i3's, and the i7's in mobile computers (I don't know very much in this area)

Are the i7's quad core or eight core? What about the i3's?

The i3, i5, i7 mobile CPUs are newer and faster than the mobile C2Ds.

There are two kinds of mobile i7 processors. i7 Arrandale (i7-6xx) are dual cores, and the i7 Clarksfield (i7-7xx, 8xx, 9xx) are the quad cores.

i3 processors are also Arrandale which are dual cores.
