Default External HDD Problem

Toshiba Laptop Satellite Series :

The computer was re-installed back to the factory fresh state or what we call the system recovery process
All files where backed up to an External HDD most of them are pictures
Now when i open the external HDD it shows all the folders but the last folder that saids " my pics " would not open any of the picture inside of it
I was thinking that it may be the user log in of the computer thats why i cant even view any of those pictures

I tried transferring the pictures to a diff computer and it workes perfectly fine , i can view them like normally does ;;

Well we are log on to the computer as an administrator so i guess there is no conflict on that one .

Any suggestions why i cant open the pictures ? even copying it to the computer it said's " you don't have the permission to view this files "

Try taking ownership of the folders/files:
Take ownership of a file or folder: User Rights; Security Policy; Security Services
