DVD drive plays a garbled DVD-9 video.

Why does my DVD drive sometimes play garbled DVD-9 video with screeching sounds? The DVD-9 disk works fine on a regular DVD player though.

I have Sony CRX810E drive.

Could be a software problem.

look for newer firware if available,does this occur only on DVD9 ddiscs? or also on DVD5?

I already have the latest firmware update for it. DVD-5 works fine and DVD-9 works fine too but the problem is intermittent with some discs of this type.

What player u using? PowerDVD?
