Does this sound right? Intel TurboBoost

So I was fooling around in my power options to get some more instantaneous power out of the cpu and to limit speed stepping while I'm plugged in.

Well I think I got what I wanted.... and more?

CPU-Z is showing me 2.5 to 3.0GHz
my processor (i5 540m) is rated at 2.53. So from what I've gathered in researching this myself, this is turbo boost kicking in, and my processor with Turbo on can hit just over 3GHz.

Sound about right?

I'm not complaining cuz power is what I want but I'm just curious. This tech is still new to me.

That's probably why all programs are showing 2.53 and only cpuz is showing 3.06.
If it's true of course. But none the less it's a cool feature.

Yha from my understanding it gives a single threaded process.... like 90% of processes, a nice boost in speed.
