Dodgy Laptop Chargers

I have been through about four chargers for my laptop and I am getting tired of them becoming and faulty and have to replace them at £20 a time. Is there a solution to this? as it is getting costly. I am purchasing branded products and not cheap ebay imports. Is there a more robust charger that will last?

Are you sure they're actual branded chargers, and not knock-offs made to look like the real thing?

Where are you buying them from?

Are you getting the AC adapter that has the correct input/output specs for your laptop?

Are you making use of online reviews to ensure that you're purchasing a reliable product? If so, have others had similar experiences with the chargers you bought?

At only $20 each they are not OEM, Had to get one for a HP recently and OEM was $80 and the knock off was in the $10-$20 range

That's what I was thinking as well.

So basically if a chargers is less than about £20 it is probably no good.

In general, if a deal is too good to be true... it probably is.
