Default Do Larger Cell Batteries Have A Higher Overall Lifetime Expectancy?

On average, do laptop batteries with larger cells (such as 9 or 12 cells) have a higher lifetime expectancy than smaller cell laptop batteries?

The 6-cell laptop battery that I formerly had lasted roughly 17 months. If I used it in the same manner, would a 9-cell or 12-cell battery last longer?

they are the same exact batteries, they are just wired to fit more cells.

The Difference would be in the Quality off the cells (who actually makes the cells for the battery) Panasonic, sayo, ect.
The battery ratings (Power=enegry/Time) which is reffered to as Ma-h (Mill amp hours) also, volt hours and more.
Plus, how much you Discharge your battery. Almost ALL batteries do not like to be discharged. If you discharge the battery and then leave it discharged, it is very bad for it. So, the quicker you get it back on the charger, the longer your battery will last!

Let me know if you have any more questions!

That's saying a longer life in terms of a single charge. OP is saying 'longer life' in terms of actual battery lifetime, i.e. how long until the battery is bad and no longer usable.
