I've found a sensor that can detect a chock has occured, but it was ment for shipping materials and has a 100pc min.
Has anyone a good source for something similar. I've got a few customers that drop their lapotp every few months and act like they got a bad hard drive.

Obvious, but rarely true.
We get one damaged hard drive (minimum) a week, and many/most that have dropped their computer, has no signs of damage. Some will have the ocassional damaged corner, but have found 50-75% have no visiable signs.
Some look so bad before they dropped it you couldn't tell.
Thanks though for the obvious.

I think "out of the box"

I didn't think dropping it would fluke up the hard drive. I would understand the A/C port would be damaged, but your hard drive is usually secured, so it wouldn't move much. Plus, its normally not close to the edges, so it wouldn't get hit.

I had to repair a few laptops, but it was due to a bad screen, viruses, A/C adapter trouble.
