My friend is an over-the-road trucker. He got a non-dell car adapter charger/power supply for it. He plugge dit in and got the warning emssage on bootup that the power supply didn't provide enough power. The battery will not charge at all and the PC cuts for 1.70ghz to 600mhz.
So he plugs the factory Dell power supply back in and it's doing the same thing and still cutting the speed down. I tried remove power and battery and letting it reset, no good, still won't charge on the Dell power supply and cuts down to 600mhz.
I am hoping the offbrand adapter didn't hurt something like the power regulator on the laptop? Any ideas?
TIA,
Ryan
