Decent Laptop?

I am looking for a laptop that has a long battery life most importantly. I would also like it to be able to at least decently run modern games. It doesn't need to run them max quality, just playable. I am looking for something sub $1000. Any Recommendations? Thanks!

I have a Vostro 1500, not sure how there new versions stack up, but it ran me around $700 a few years ago, has about 3 hours battery life on the 6 cell battery when not playing games.... But when playing games because of the 8600 in it, the battery dies in around an hour. Pretty sure if you select one of the vostros and customize it to have a 8xxx or 9xxx series card with a good sized battery that it would suit your needs...

Any laptop you want t play games on, will drain battery life, that's one of the drawbacks of owning one. but Charlie is right, the vostro is a decent lappy. get the 15" screen and upgrade to the 8600GS you'll be set, and I think it'll run around 800.00 or so
