Default This a decent laptop?

I'm getting ready to travel for a few months, and I need a decent laptop that I can play Sims 2 and World of Warcraft. I found this one on Newegg, but not sure if it's any good. I have around $800-$1000 to spend.

Newegg.com - HP Pavilion dv9930us NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T5750(2.00GHz) 17.0" Wide XGA+ 4GB Memory 320GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS - Laptops / Notebooks

I would get this one instead, easily.
Newegg.com - MSI GX700(9S7-171948-225) NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T8300(2.40GHz) 17.0" Wide SXGA+ 3GB Memory 320GB HDD DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT - Laptops / Notebooks

MSI makes amazing laptops, very high quality. Plus it's got a faster proc and better video and apparently it's $300 less. I'd pick this one up in a heart beat if you're set on a 17" screen.

I would suggest reconsidering a 17" screen, if you are traveling. 17" laptops are absolutely gigantic.

I would agree, 15" is much more reasonable, plus you'll get a lot better battery life. 17" lappies are pretty tough to lug around.
