Which CPU

Intel Core i3 330M at 2.13Ghz or Intel Pentium 2020M at 2.4Ghz? I would be using the PC for Media and a few certain projects.

Laptops are

Lenovo G780 and Gateway NV7915u

A first generation i3 as compared to a second (or third, I'm not exactly sure which) generation pentium is tough call to me.

While the i3 has HT, yes, the pentium has the updated, smaller architecture that allows for better integrated graphics and quicker processing. I would actually see the pentium outperforming the i3 in this case.

I would try to find at least a third generation i3, in my honest opinion.

Well What it is is I'm looking for a 17" laptop and I have a close shave budget. And it's a third gen Pentium. I'm ordering it Monday. I've decided to go with the Lenovo G780

3rd gen Pentium over 1st gen i3 any day. If it was I3 Sandy it would be a different story. IB is like 25% or more better than 1st gen lol.

The i3 in this case is older tech. The Pentium is 3rd gen Core i architecture and the i3 330m is 1st gen.
