Compaq 610 display/graphics/resolution problems

Hello everyone,

I'm having problems with my compaq 610. Every once in a while, the screen crashes and goes to some kind of andy warhol-pastel-looking display. Also the screen screen becomes smaller and occupies about a third of the whole display.

I'm using windows xp, have all the necessary drivers installed, but I don't seem to find what the *** problem is. So please, if anybody has this problem or knows how to fix it, answer this post!

Did you try to use an external monitor? If it is fine, it is normally a LCD connection problem. If you know how to open it up, check the LCD's power cable connection.
