chkdsk

Well being a little more specific would be nice.

What kind of error did chkdsk find?

A bad sector? It couldn't complete? It couldn't start?

sorry hold on I have to check it again..when I did it again it gets stuck at 47 percent... 0 bad files records.... O ea records...... It says warning f parameter not specified...... Stage 1 of 3

Run it with the /f parameter then.

Start -> type 'cmd' (without quotes) -> right click -> run as admin -> in the console window that pops up type:
chkdsk C: /f /r
Press Enter and it will say it cannot lock the current drive and to run on next reboot. Type Y and hit Enter -> Reboot your computer and let it run through the check (it may take some time, depending on how big your HDD is).

So no problem I'm guessing then, lol.

The "failed to transfer" message is fine.

I assume you're running chkdsk from recovery/repair rather than from within Windows. Just means it was unable to copy the logfile to Event Log.

So you're having issues booting into Windows, not just with chkdsk?

You need to give us more details so we can help you if that's what you're after.
