I believe could also be done using the Disk Management features in Windows 7.

lol, maybe that wouldn't have wiped my partition!

I was able to resize my partitions, so now I have 185 GB on my primary hd and 97.6 GB on my secondary.

I shouldn't have ignored the messaged from GParted that I may lose all data
