Hi all once again

I recently bought a HP laptop. i've used it for a week or so, yesterday my friends told me if i'm using it at home, i should take my battery out and just use the cord so it can save the batteries' life.

Does it work? and is it dangerous while using the laptop without the battery pack in?

Thanks

You can do it, it won't hurt anything. I don't think it will affect the battery at all unless you use it a LOT, like on 24/7. Won't hurt anything, though.

It's not dangerous to leave the battery in while plugged in, it's just that the battery is in a constant "charging mode" when plugged in. So, if you are not using it, you should leave it out.

I think that depends on the computer. My HP use to, well it seemed like it did, was run on battery every so often, even when plugged in.

I would notice it'd go into charge mode out of the blue.

EDIT ********************************

Finally read my new lAptops manual... It advises to remove the battery when using ac all the time.
