Brand new laptop, so what's up?

I just bought a new laptop in mid September. It's a Gateway M series with 320 GB hard drive, 4 GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo processor and Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit). Since the first day I opened it up, it's been freezing up on me, at least twice a day. I've run virus checks, spyware checks; there's nothing I can see that's causing this problem. I really need some help on this, because it shouldn't be freezing up. So even if you only have a hunch as to what's causing this, I need your help. Thank you :)
 
If it happened from day one, why don't you just send it to gateway to get fixed up? This can be caused by literally hundreds of things...
 
Could be drivers, RAM, hardware incompatibility. Contacting Gateway will be your best bet. Should still be even under the 90 Day warranty.
