I own a older toshiba satellite, from about 3 years ago. It is windows xp and everything works fine. However, one out of 5 startups, I'd say, go into some sort of frenzy. The sound starts buzzing and I cant access any documents, even though it does make it to my desktop front. It will buzz for around 20-50 seconds, really hard. But, the odd thing is, it isnt clicking as if it was a hd problem, it is actually buzzing (more of a really violent RrrrRRRrrrRRRrr sound) out of the sound output. Like, if I put in headphones it will buzz out of those. And then after it will crash. I have reinstalled the OS with the backup disc a few times, it will work good for a month, then starts again. I dont think it is a hd problem because the disc sounds fine, who knows tho, my normal computer tech said he doesnt think it could be ram either. Anyone have similar symptoms? Advice? *I still have my old ram from my upgrade if that is worthy of a swap n try?*

Thanks!
