BIOS Update

I have a laptop that needs its BIOS updated. I downloaded the BIOS and have the option to burn a CD or update from windows. From what I know, im guessing the CD way is the safest, correct? I just wanted to check before I do anything as I don't know laptops nearly as well as desktops. Thanks.

No. Updating from within Windows is jsut fine. I have done it at least a dozen times myself now.

Updating from Windows is fine, probably faster, too. There's nothing wrong with, done it plenty.

I updated my HP numerous times (including BIOS mods) from Windows. Works in XP and Vista at least. My old ThinkPad had to reboot and update out of OS though. All depends on the PC.
