BIOS Password Persists, Even After Removing Battery

Manufacturers used to have backdoor passwords or allowed you to reset the password by popping out the CMOS battery. Because of theft, they have designed laptops to be a little more resilient. Your laptop is quite modern, so the only way you can reset it is by replacing the motherboard, unfortunately.

to remove a bios password on a laptop you have to remove the battery and short a certain chipset (like the 3rd prong one to the 6th one) in it with a paper clip. it's too much trouble.
