On laptop computers the Windows certificate of authenticity is printed on a piece of paper which is attached to the bottom of the device. Unfortunately, the license key gets damaged and you cannot read it.

Is there some way to overcome this problem? Is there some kind of laminate plastic that can be used to cover the paper?

Thanks,

TC

I would personally write the key down on a piece of sticker paper, and pop the keyboard off, and put the COA there also, or anywhere that you have easy access to that don't get really hot or anything.

^^A possible cheaper options is to write it down as others have suggested but then to put a very thick piece of clear tape over it, so long as the tape does not cover any vents or cooling ports it should be fine.

Also take a close picture of it if possible and save in a safe place.

masking tape, hoping it wont take the paint off.. ... the person who recommended the expensive barcode scanner... ?????? haha...

anyways to protect the sticker, writing down wouldnt help.... you could also put a psp screen cover over it or somethin

Sudden, learn how to quote, and not post in ancient topics? Writing down the key, and taping it to the bottom of the keyboard, or on the HDD it self is the best idea, wanna know why? Most all shops will pull the hard drive when they suspect a HDD issue.
