For college, Microsoft Office, email, wireless internet, Hulu, pictures, music, an SD Card slot. No gaming (desktop for that). Not too much intensive applications.
Its fine if it's a little over 500 because I get an education discount. I just want it to meet the specifications and get the best deal.
Most important is that it is very portable and fairly light. 12 inches is preferable and ideal (not a Netbook). It's also very important that it has an excellent battery life
