Default Attemping to build a laptop

What are the main hardware components to a laptop? Is there an online site specific for laptop parts? if so where.
Should I compare what a laptop has to offer to a PC?
ex.
Ram
GPU
CPU
etc...

Please and thank you in advance.

I've never heard of anyone custom building a laptop, not sure how possible that is.

It is possible, but due to the fact laptop parts are specifically created for certain models, it is very difficult. Beyond this, it is also very expensive. You would stand to lose hundreds of dollars over just buying a pre-built, which is in contrast to saving money when building a desktop.

In short: Unless it is a school project, never ever build a laptop.

It is rarely if ever cost effective. You can purchase the individual parts, but every enclosure is different. It isn't worth the money, for a 1200 dollar laptop from HP you'll spend 1600 making the same laptop yourself minus an OS and minus a 1 year warranty.

definately NOT worth it. stay away from building laptops and leave that to the companies. Desktops on the other hand we recommend you build those yourself and we can help you if need be on desktops......Laptop building not so much.

They do make bare bones laptops but unfortunately that is as close as it comes to building your own.
