Default ASUS G60VX upgradeable?

I'm just wondering if my current laptop is upgradeable or not. The only hardware I would upgrade is the CPU. The current CPU is a Core 2 Duo P7450 (2.13 GHz). If the CPU is upgradeable, are all mobile Core 2 duo CPUs compatible?

Thank you!

You can upgrade it to a P9700. From what I read.

Thanks. So since I currently have a P series CPU, I can only upgrade to another P series?

Ok, I read further, you can get the T9900 as well.

So any P, or T series would be fine?

You can go UP to the CPUs posted. Anything that is newer than that, is not compatible.

C2D and i3/i5/i7 are two completely different sockets. You are stuck with a C2D, up to the versions posted.

Okay thanks. Would I noticed a significant performance boost in games with this CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-013-_-Product

I can't say, in that I do not regularly upgrade laptop CPUs.

You might, you might not. It depends on the game, your settings, how many programs are running in the background, etc.
